Welcome to College Now courses with Western Iowa Tech Community College. Please use this information below as a guide to your dual-credit courses.

Log into MyWIT

MyWIT is the student portal with all of your college information. Log in to MyWIT to view your schedule, classes, student email, and more. Your MyWIT login credentials and student ID number can be found in your college acceptance letter.

  • Go to my.witcc.edu.
  • Enter your domain/user name: wit + student ID number + @witcc (wit0123456@witcc).
  • Enter the default password: first initial capitalized + last initial lowercase + birthdate in eight-digit format + witcc (Flmmddyyyywitcc). You will be required to change your password after your first login.
  • You will be prompted for additional security verification. Select your preferred method of contact and country. Enter the code you receive to complete verification.

Check MyWIT Email

Your college-issued MyWIT email is the primary way the college will communicate with you. Students enrolled in online classes have two email accounts, both in MyWIT and in Canvas. It is important to check both. Your instructor may communicate with you through Canvas email, but all other departments will send very important information to your MyWIT student email.

  • Go to my.witcc.edu and log into MyWIT.
  • Your email will be located in a card called Student Email.
  • Your email address is: firstname.lastname@my.witcc.edu.
  • Your email password: first initial capitalized + last name initial lowercase + eight-digit birthdate + witcc (Flmmddyyywitcc).

View Class Schedule

View your class schedule on MyWIT.

  • Go to my.witcc.edu and log in to MyWIT.
  • Select Class Schedule.
  • Select the term you wish to view.
  • Click on the schedule.
  • Can't find the Class Schedule card? Click on the Discover More button for more options.

Find Your Books

Western Iowa Tech College Now courses use a combination of physical textbooks and digital materials. To find out what books you need for class, go to the Books card in MyWIT.

  • MyWIT > Class Schedule with Books > Select the term you wish to view
  • Can't find the Class Schedule with Books card? Click on the Discover More button for more options.

Physical Textbooks

"Available through the bookstore" means your classes uses physical textbooks. Pick up your books and class materials at the Western Iowa Tech Bookstore starting August 15 at the WIT Bookstore.

In some cases your books may be provided by your school. Check with your school counselor if you are unsure.

Digital Books

"Cengage Unlimited," "Open Educational Resources," "Lumen Learning," or "My Lab" means digital books are needed. You will need to renew or activate your Cengage Unlimited account before the first day of class to access your digital materials.

Cengage Tech Support
Cengage Unlimited tech support answers most frequently asked questions.

Online Student Support

Cengage representatives are available to answer your Cengage questions at the beginning of the semester.

Mondays 9 - 11am
Tuesdays Noon - 2pm
Thursdays 1 - 3pm

Visit https://info.cengage.com/OfficeHours_MidWest_Mindera to chat with customer support. You will be asked to enter your name and school before entering the zoom. Please join through your computer, not your phone, so that you can share your screen.

Access Online Classes

Online classes are available through Canvas. You will be able to open and view your online class on the first day of class.

  • Log into MyWIT at my.witcc.edu.
  • Select the Canvas card.
  • You will be on your online homepage dashboard.
  • View the Canvas Overview for Students video.

Complete Online Orientation

Online orientation is called Exploring the Comet Universe - High School. This class provides important information and helpful tips for a successful school year. Orientation is a free, non-credit, non-graded course.

  • Log into MyWIT at my.witcc.edu.
  • Select the Canvas card.
  • Select "Exploring the Comet Universe - High School".
  • Go to Modules and view the content.

Dropping a Class

All drops must be done through your counselor.

Last day to drop a class without being charged can be found here. For courses offered at your high school location, please refer to your high school counselor for drop dates.

Help and Tutoring

If you are falling behind in your course communicate with your instructor. They really like to get to know you and have genuine interest in your success.

Western Iowa Tech offers free tutoring in the Comet Learning Center.
