The Secondary Education Transfer Major is for those of you who plan to become teachers in secondary schools.  This program provides a broad base of general education knowledge while also laying the foundation for a successful experience in the education field.  The Secondary Education Transfer Major was designed in conjunction with the Iowa Regents Universities to assist you in transferring into secondary education programs.  This program of study may also be followed if you wish to transfer to another college or university, but it is critical that you confer with your intended transfer institution early in your academic career.  Completing this AA program does not make you eligible for Iowa teacher licensure.  You must transfer in order to complete a Bachelor’s degree and a state-approved teacher preparation program.
