HAZMAT
Hazardous materials are found in every jurisdiction, community, workplace, and modern households. These substances possess a wide variety of harmful characteristics. Some hazardous materials can be quite deadly or destructive, and terrorists and other criminals may use them to deliberately cause harm. We can provide training to your employees that will give them the necessary tools and knowledge to be able to advert a hazardous materials disaster. Corporate College can also provide training to your employees that will allow them to effectively and safely control a hazardous materials incident.

Awareness Level - 8 hours
Awareness level personnel are persons who, in the course of their normal duties, could encounter an emergency involving hazardous materials/weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and who are expected to recognize the presence of the hazardous materials/WMD, protect themselves, call for trained personnel, and secure the area.
Operations Level - 24 hours
The operations level responder are persons who responds to hazardous materials/weapons of mass destruction (WMD) incidents for the purpose of protecting nearby persons, the environment, or property from the effects of the release.
Technician Level - 40 hours
The hazardous materials technician are persons who responds to hazardous materials/WMD incidents using a risk-based response process to analyze a problem involving hazardous materials/WMD, plan a response to the problem, implement the planned response, evaluate progress of the planned response and adjust as needed, and assist in terminating the incident. Prerequisite: Operations Level
Incident Command - 16 hours
The incident commander (IC) at hazardous materials/WMD incidents shall be that person responsible for all incident activities, including the development of strategies and tactics and the ordering and release of resources as designated by the AHJ. Prerequisite: Technician Level
HAZMAT 8 Hour Refresher
Prerequisite: Operations or Technician Level Course. Hazardous materials technicians must receive at least 24 hours of training at the operations level and satisfy certain additional competencies listed in the standard. See 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6)(ii) and 1910.120(q)(6)(iii). In addition, the HAZWOPER standard requires that operations and technician level employees "receive annual refresher training of sufficient content and duration to maintain their competencies, or shall demonstrate competency in those areas at least yearly." 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(8).
HAZWOPER
An unexpected release of hazardous substances, or a substantial threat of a hazardous substance release, can pose a significant health and safety risk to workers. Unexpected releases can be caused by operation failures and unrelated outside events (e.g., natural disasters, terrorism). Workers can encounter hazardous substances through waste dumped in the environment - a serious safety and health issue that continues to endanger life and environmental quality.
HAZWOPER 24 Hour
Initial off-site hazardous waste operations and emergency response training for non-routine site workers and emergency responders. During this course, the groundwork is established for future site-specific training needed by employees. Topics include: properties of hazardous substance, hazard recognition and risk assessment, selection and use of personal protection equipment, site evaluation, monitoring and safe work practices, incident command and emergency response and decontamination methods, procedures and more.
HAZWOPER 40 Hour
This comprehensive training is recommended for those who have a potential for hazardous substance exposure while performing required duties. It meets off-site training requirements for general site workers and RCRA operations site workers. Emergency response personnel and other hazardous materials workers will find this course extremely valuable for initial training. Topics include: properties of hazardous substances, hazardous recognition and incident prevention, selection, use and care of personal protective equipment, site safety and health responsibilities, plans and procedures, emergency response planning and spill containment, decontamination methods and procedures, safe work practices and more. Hands-on experience is an essential part of the course.
HAZWOPER 8 Hour Refresher
Prerequisite: HAZWOPER 24 or 40-Hour Course. Hazardous materials technicians must receive at least 24 hours of training at the operations level and satisfy certain additional competencies listed in the standard.
