Our students have full, busy lives which often comes with challenges and unexpected problems. These roadblocks don’t have to get in the way of your education. Whatever comes your way, we’ve got you covered. Western Iowa Tech has so many helpful employees ready to get your through your rough patch and set you up for success.

The Career Services Center can prepare you for the workforce and help you reach your career goals. Career Services are available in-person at the Sioux City campus and via Zoom to Cherokee and Denison campuses. 

The Community Action Agency of Siouxland offers an Early Head Start program on the campus of Western Iowa Tech Community College. This program serves children age 6 weeks to 3 who live in Woodbury County and it is free to those who qualify.

Life can be challenging, especially when you’re juggling school, family, work and the many other things that life throws at us. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or need someone to talk to, a Western Iowa Tech mental health counselor is available for one-on-one counseling at our Sioux City, Cherokee, and Denison campuses.

Western Iowa Tech has a food pantry, also known as the Comet Cupboard, on Sioux City, Denison, and Cherokee campuses to support students and employees who are experiencing food insecurity.

Western Iowa Tech is proud to offer an on-campus health clinic for students and employees through Tri-State Nursing. Office visits are free of charge. Must present a Western Iowa Tech ID. Additional fees may apply.

Current and former members of the military are welcome to use the Military Private Study, located in Room L203 on the Sioux City Campus. This private room can be used for reading, homework, or studying. No reservations are required.

The Mother’s Room is a private room where nursing mothers can pump breast milk. The room is privately located in the admissions area.

For many, prayer and meditation are a part of everyday life. The Reflection Room provides a quiet, private space for Western Iowa Tech campus members to pray, meditate or sit in silent reflection. 

The sensory room is available to students or employees needing a quiet room to decompress. The room is privately located the admissions area.

The Testing Center is a monitored, quiet and secure space for public and student testing.
Testing Centers are located at the Sioux City, Cherokee and Denison campuses. To use the Testing Center, please contact the specific location.

The Comet Learning Center, located in the Learning Achievement Center provides drop-in tutoring services in various subject areas for registered Western Iowa Tech students. No appointment is necessary.

The library is part of the Learning Achievement Center located in Building A, The Robert H. Kiser Building on the Western Iowa Tech Campus in Sioux City, Iowa.
