We are so excited you enrolled at WITCC! New and returning college students have a lot to do to get ready for classes. We've made this helpful list to keep you organized.
Introducing FLEX Courses
WITCC is excited to welcome students back on campus for classes this fall! We are offering both online courses and new FLEX courses. FLEX courses combine face-to-face instruction with a few virtual components. We know many of our students prefer learning in a classroom and WITCC is honoring that choice. Our FLEX courses deliver as much course material as possible in-person for a hands-on, engaging classroom experience.
What to Expect for Fall
Like everything else in today's world, our academic programs have made adjustments in order to adapt to our new environment. We want you to be aware of some changes you may experience this semester:
- You may alternate days in the classroom.
- Your class might have modified lab times.
- Some of your classes may occur via Zoom and/or Canvas LMS online learning.
- You will be able to access your course shell the day before class.
- The college is requiring all students and employees wear face coverings while on campus.
- You are asked to maintain social distancing practices while on campus.
Each course instructor will email specific details about your class to your MyWIT student email account in August. It is very important to check your student email regularly so you will be prepared for class!
Check Your MyWIT Student Email
Access your student email account by logging onto MyWIT. MyWIT is the student portal that houses important information like your financial aid status, class schedule, course information, and grades, in addition to your email.
Follow these instructions on logging on to MyWIT.
Get Your Books
Many WITCC courses use eBooks for their required textbook.
Find out what books you need and how to get your books for class.
Pick Up Your Laptop
Student laptops are available for pick up at the IT Help Desk (room A208). No appointment is necessary. Simply check in at the front entrance when you arrive. Once you have your laptop, staff members will show you how to set up your laptop, get ready for classes, and download the browsers and extensions you need. Laptop set up takes place on campus in A203. You can also contact Bea Houston at 712.274.8733 ext. 3218 or firstname.lastname@example.org to set up a virtual training.
Cherokee and Denison
Student laptops will be available for pick up in August. The branch campuses will notify students when they are able to pick up their laptop. Staff are available to help you set up your laptop. You can also schedule a training session via Zoom or phone with the Comet Learning Center by contacting 712.274.8733 ext. 3218 or emailing email@example.com.
Check Your Financial Aid Status
If you have already completed your FAFSA, check the status of your financial aid package. You may need to submit additional information in order for your aid to be processed. To check your status, log onto MyWIT and go to "My Financial Aid."
Fall orientation will be held virtually. More details are coming soon.
If you applied for housing, move-in dates have been set for Saturday, August 22 and Sunday August 23 from 8:00am - 5:00pm. In order to reduce the number of students moving in at the same time, individual times and dates have assigned. Check your email for your assigned time.
